BIKING TO the beach
because the simple act of caring is heroic
We did it!
1 Great Community
of Support & Caring
It is the summer after our junior year in high school, and we just rode our bikes from Philadelphia to Key West. Our goal for Ride for the A's was to raise $15,000 to provide funds that bring support, comfort, and relief to the families and caregivers of Alzheimer's patients.
You joined us virtually, mile after mile, and with your encouragement and support dollars. And together we raised over $26,000 for these families.
We've finished riding!

WHY KEY WEST?
Ride for the A's started as a harebrained idea that Charlie had one day at the lunch table. Having just completed a ride to the Jersey Shore, our confidence was unwavering so "Let's ride our bikes to the farthest beach - Key West!" sounded about right.
We have always been inspired by our lacrosse coach Jef Hewlings and his commitment to support the caretakers and families of Alzheimer's patients.
PLAY FOR THE A's
Coach Hewlings started the “Play for the A’s” lacrosse tournament eight years ago, in honor of his late mother, Shirley, who passed away in 2009 from Alzheimer’s disease. Coach Hewling's lacrosse tournament, that both of us have played in since 7th grade, raises funds every year for families affected by Alzheimer’s.
RIDE FOR THE A's
Like the lacrosse tournament, we want to raise awareness of the needs families have during the challenging time taking care of a family member with Alzheimer's. Ride for the A's follows the path created for us by our coach.
Thank you for riding alongside with your support and contributions.
